Maintenance Importance

The VST houses the high-pressure fuel pump supplying your fuel injectors. Over time, heat cycles and exposure to ethanol-blended fuels cause this rubber seal to shrink, harden, or swell. A degraded VST seal will leak fuel, cause internal pressure loss, and can introduce air pockets into the fuel system, resulting in engine hard-starting, rough idling, or high-RPM stalling. Suzuki service protocols mandate replacing this seal every time the VST chamber is opened for internal cleaning or filter changes.
