This genuine Suzuki OEM rubber seal — also officially catalogued as a Clutch Rod Seal or Clutch Rod Cover — sits along the lower unit shifting linkage assembly of Suzuki Marine outboard engines. Its primary function is to prevent salt water, dirt, sand, and other marine debris from entering the lower unit gearcase housing through the shift rod opening. Replacing a torn or weathered dust seal ensures smooth shifting mechanics and protects expensive internal gear components from contamination.
